What is a good typing speed?
The average adult types around 40 WPM. 60 WPM is comfortably above average and enough for most office jobs, while 80 WPM and up is considered fast. Accuracy above 95% matters as much as speed.
How do I restart quickly?
Press Tab then Enter, or the Esc key, to restart with new words at any time.
How is WPM calculated?
Words per minute counts every 5 correctly typed characters, including spaces, as one word, divided by the minutes elapsed. Raw WPM counts every keystroke, right or wrong. Accuracy is the share of keystrokes that were correct, so mistakes still count even if you fix them.

What does consistency mean?
Consistency measures how steady your speed was from second to second. 100% means you typed at exactly the same pace the whole time; lower numbers mean bursts and pauses.
